2017 SXSW Interactive Preview

by Jessica Baker on

It’s almost that time in Austin again! In less than a month, March 10th to be exact, thousands of business men and women, techies, journalists, music fans, foodies, and movie lovers will take over our city.

Besides the obvious world famous music festival, SXSW is home to SXSW Film and SXSW Interactive. SXSW Interactive has been bringing some of the most influential speakers in technology, business, journalism, and many other industries to Austin since 1994.

A few changes have been made this year to make the festival even better and easier to navigate. The SXSW Interactive conference is now organized into 24 different conference tracks, and the new badges reflect those tracks. On their website you can take this short quiz to help determine what badge is best for you.

The conference tracks fall into three categories of “Interactive”, “Film” and “Music” with a couple tracks that have speakers in all sections.

For IT Freedom and most of our clients, the Interactive tracks—in particular the brands & marketing and tech industry tracks—hold the most value business-wise. (Although if I can find my way to the film and music side of things, I’d be pretty happy too.)

As I mentioned before, SXSW pulls some big names, and this year is no exception. Since the Brands & Marketing and Tech Industry tracks are most relevant to the majority of our clients, we’ve picked a few speakers to highlight:

Brands and Marketing Track
